i want you to feel the wind

it may not make sense that when i have so many sessions to still blog about,
that i am not only putting this one in front of them, or even starting another series,
but, i am. and i am happy about it.
i have been away from my own work for too long. i need food.
the object sitting on top of her head is, yes, a crown.
i will share with you right now that the crown was not my brilliant idea,
but, in fact, this brilliant woman’s idea. how can her work not be inspiring?
i went about searching for my own head piece. so far, nothing…that i love.
for now, i will begin with this one because i need to begin.

even though this is to be a series…with a crown…i found something that attracted me even more. the wind. it was more like a strong breeze, really.
when it started, all i wanted was to catch it, in all it’s glory.
can you feel it?

Karen, FL - Gina, this is LOVELY! I love the “crown” idea (and personally, I think you raised the bar), and the soft blowing locks are so, so pretty! Really a beautiful portrait! Can’t wait to see more! 🙂 Karen

Deborah Carr - This is gorgeous, full of personality, movement, curiosity, fun. You’ve done it again, dear girl. (I’m such a fan…)

spotted goose spring mini session . bebe grace

every time i look at her photos, i think of a little birdie…
a sweet sweet little blue eyed birdie

meet baby grace

oh…those baby blues!

to even think about two outfits in a 20 min mini session is tough,
but when mom brings outfits as cute as both of these, and babe grace is
such a happy girl…i say, let’s go for it!

such a happy girl.

Deborah Carr - She looks like a china doll…a happy little china doll. What fun when she grows up and looks back at these…

model portfolios . merritt

i knew as soon as i saw merritt that i would not only shoot for her what she needed,
but i would shoot her for what i wanted as well.
the truth is, i pretty much do that with every session. and, why not?
we’re there and as long as i know we’ve got what we need…
that is the time and place to push a little further.  lately, i’ve been extra enthralled with light.
stepping out of my comfort zone and into the..let’s see what happens if…zone.
i love it. i love the freedom and the chance and the drama of it.
merritt has a natural beauty, a kind of french film star aura. we played with that.
below are some of my favorite from this session.

Karen, FL - Hi Gina! These are all so lovely, but the one that jumps off the screen for me is the second-to-last one… the full length shot with that amazing leaf print dress. Her posture and expression is just perfect! Beautiful work! 🙂

Thea - 6, 8 and the last one took my darn breath away. I love that you shared that you were stepping out, because that inspires me, that you consciously took a risk and it garnered amazing results, rather than intimidates me, that your talent comes from a place of sureness, if that makes any sense? All of these are gorgeous and I can feel you, really feel you and the model in each one. Just stunning.
