a little of this, a little pear tart

where did the last week or so go???  busy shooting sessions,
designing storyboards and books, getting orders out, planning for upcoming events,
working in my studio trying to choose images to display-impossible, i love so many!
and still trying to come up with a sign that i love-ugh! oh yeah, busy. and i love this kind of busy!
but meanwhile, fall snuck in (yesterday) and dare i say i missed it? the actual first ‘day’ of fall.
was i that busy that i was truly unaware of it.
evidently so.
is that the theme of things lately? have i been so immersed in ‘things’ that i’m missing the best things?
i try to remind myself to stop and look up, and down and sideways.
just stop long enough to settle into the moment that is right now.
i guess i have my work cut out for me.

although i may have unknowingly missed the first calendar day of fall,
my internal fall clock surely knew…last night’s desert…on a whim.
so let me just say…let the baking begin!
i love to bake, my girls love to bake, we all love to eat what we bake. does that also mean
that the extra 5 (or so) pounds that accompanies it also begins?
so be it! it’s worth it in our books!

Ilene - Oh yes, yes it is. The only thing that could possibly make this delectable looking tart look any better is perhaps a dollop of creme fraiche. By the way, aren’t you the multi-faceted one… amazing photog and baker? This new friendship just keeps getting better and better!

Pascale - OH YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!!! I also love to bake. The good news is I’ve been too busy as of late to indulge which has helped keep me from gaining any ADDITIONAL lbs beyond what I already need to lose! HA! But that tart…. oh be still my beating heart. I think I know what I’ll be doing this weekend….. wanna share the recipe?!
Good luck with finding a sign you love, it will happen. I have faith in you. 🙂

Rama Desai - That tart looks very delicious!! I am so impressed! 🙂
And yes, fall is here!! I love the soulful warmth of this season. Earth goes into a deep wintry sleep with a final, glorious, riotous outburst of colours. The colours closest to her heart. Earthy! Love it!

tina of casa delorenzo {modern offerings}

like all artists, tina {of casa delorenzo} is always thinking of ways to express her art…outside the comfortable and expected.
as part of the added direction for her business, she paired with owner jeff hinkel and his amazing environment at voltage to showcase
yet another dimension of her pillow creations.
it was amazing to see how tina’s pillows both complimented and softened the sculptural qualities of voltage’s furnishings
without losing their modern aesthetic…as if they were naturally conceived together.
modern, high design, contemporary meets the textural qualities and sleek, clean lines of casa delorenzo pillows. a perfect match.

i so completely loved photographing all of tina’s gorgeous pillows but i knew, at some point, i would be pointing my camera at her too!
today was our day.

Doodle Snyder - Gina, your artful eye is amazing!! Your gratitude and words are inspiring. You have captured the essence of my beautiful sister and her creations. The colors,composition,framing – a huge WOW!! What a gift you and your talents are to my sis. And you are so right – Tina does make that face- funny. sparky {52 strangers}

oh yeah…another stranger. and, yes, you see it right. a puppy. and, yes, it’s my blog so it counts!
while pehgi, nora and i were in columbus walking down the street on our way to our next location,
we passed this little guy just hanging out with his owner.
how could we not stop and take a few…after all, we had our cameras, right?
the one regret i have is that we didn’t get his owner’s name to send him a few picts of his sweet sweet puppy.
maybe we should post a sign? here’s my favorite one.

Ilene - I would have named him Sparky as well. You, however are a much better person than I am . If it had been me and his owner was no where to be seen, Sparky would be home with me now! 😉
